2012 Ford Focus Electric

In the past few years Ford has turned its focus on leading the industry on fuel economy.  Fords lineup now offers consumers numerous top of the line quality and efficient vehicles.  And, the American auto manufacturer is not stopping there by introducing the 2012 Ford Focus Electric, certified as America's most fuel-efficient five-passenger vehicle.

Registering in with 105 miles per gallon-equivalent, the Ford Focus Electric bettered its top competition by six mpg-e, while offering more motor power and passenger room. It is convenient as well, taking just four hours to fully charge, about half the time of other EVs on the market.

The EPA noted that the new Focus Electric has a best-in-class range of 76 miles on a single charge, but can be driven up to a 100-mile range, depending on driving habits. Not only that, the Focus Electric rakes in the savings by not heading to the gas pump. It is estimated that customers could save just under $10,000 in fuel costs over a five-year period compared to the average new vehicle.

And, if that?s not enough the Focus Electric comes standard with a rear-view camera, reverse sensing system and rain-sensing windshield wipers.  Another cool feature is that MyFord Mobile allows you to monitor the vehicle's charge range, identify charging stations, and plan routes to find them. Under the hood, there's a hybrid transmission designed specifically by Ford, capable of operating at high speeds while producing a smooth, efficient ride. The Focus Electric also contains Lithium-ion batteries covered by an eight-year/100,000-mile component warranty, meaning you'll have a car that can perform at optimum levels, and last.
