Ford Raptor Tampa, FL

All About the 2021 Ford Raptor

If you're in the market for a capable and off-road-ready pickup truck, it's tough to beat the Ford Raptor. This versatile truck is packed with features that make it rugged and ready for any adventure. Check out what's coming with the 2021 model and how it's changing from the previous model. What We Know So far, Ford hasn't released firm details on the Raptor version of the popular F-150 truck. However, since the auto manufacturer released a fully redesigned F-150 for 2021, it's expected that the Raptor will share many of the same updates. One of the biggest changes made to Ford's ever-popular pickup is the addition of a hybrid powertrain, which includes a 3.5-liter V-6 paired to an electric motor. The EPA-estimated range is 700 miles, making this one of the most efficient trucks available. more Ford hasn't stated whether the hybrid powertrain will be available in the Raptor, but eco-friendly and outdoorsy buyers are likely hopeful that they can get the best of both worlds. A fully electric version of the F-150 is expected in the following model year as well. Exterior Styling Keen-eyed observers have spotted what they believe to be prototypes of the redesigned 2021 Raptor, and it looks stylish. A member of a Ford-focused online forum spilled the beans that the truck will be available with an exclusive new paint color, known as “Code Orange.” With that bold shade on the exterior, the Raptor is sure to stand out among a sea of pickup options. Towing and Hauling Unless Ford makes significant changes to the towing and hauling capabilities of the Raptor, it's expected that the 2021 model will be able to handle heavy loads as well. The outgoing model can carry up to 1,200 pounds in payload and tow up to 8,000 pounds when properly equipped. The necessary equipment to achieve the max towing capacity includes a wiring harness with four-pin and seven-pin connectors, a class-IV receiver hitch, an electronically locking rear differential, an integrated trailer brake controller, and coolers for the engine oil and auxiliary transmission. Possible Cab Changes In the past, the Ford Raptor has been available with several cab options, including the crew cab and extended cab. However, rumor has it that Ford is ditching the extended cab, which it refers to as SuperCab, and offering the Raptor only in the four-door SuperCrew body style. This model outsells the option with the SuperCab configuration, and the four full-size doors make it easy to access the rear seating area of the cabin anyway. Interior Enhancements Although the bulk of the upgrades made to the 2021 F-150 were on the outside and beneath the hood, the interior got a few enhancements as well. The Raptor's cabin should match with what you can get on the other F-150 trims, such as max reclining and bolstered front seats, an upgraded audio and infotainment system, and soft-touch materials. Ford may also provide the new multi-functional tailgate as standard or an option on the Raptor. Although Ford hasn't released the 2021 Raptor just yet, it's expected in the near future. When the bold and rugged pickup truck does come out, you can be one of the first behind the wheel by visiting us at Elder Ford of Tampa. Image via ElderFordofTampa.com
